Lagi kes pecah kereta di Lotus@CTBank

Not too long ago Superfriends went to hang out at the famous mamak outlet, Lotus@CTBank. It was way after midnight, and when they decided to retire Siti found her car with a smashed window.

The durjana thief escaped with some keyboard cables and pedal, among others - which I presume would fetch a good price since at that time the price of steel of steadily climbing. Apparently a few other cars - I think three more - parked nearby also fell victim to the same bandit.

So when yesterday Nadya told me that Man K's (the soundman) car's window was also destroyed and it happened at the very same mamak outlet I felt compelled to warn you all.

And can you guess what went missing? Coins? Naaah... Bag filled with stuff? Naah.. Radio? Hmm... naaah....

IT WAS A BOTTLE OF HAIR OIL.
Hair bloody oil!!!

Obviously the same asshole is still at large, doing the same thing and for a bottle of hair oil he didn't think twice before shattering the glass.

So if you find yourself manouvering around the CTBank area for a parking spot, make sure you find one whithin really well-lit, populated area. Better still, make sure you're near enough to scan the spot every once in a while.

Yeah, only a few gets those good spots, but be patient a bit and see if luck favours you. You might save your car windows from being smashed.

Fantastic Four visited Superfriends

Four of us went to check out the band at Pedro, Monterez last night... gossiped a little... drink a little... Hey! Didn't know Tuesdays equal to Ladies' Nite? But it is... and chup's on the list!

Norule did a bit of video recording on her Nokia 6750 (I think? Haven't been covering Nokia for a long time, so I kinda lost track of the model names), and Intan thought the band's sounding good with the new drummer on board.

Quite nice to hear Najuib's singing Belaian Jiwa and Sway and re-dos of I Shot the Sherrif and Uninvited (nice harmony on both songs), among other several new songs were very much appreciated by the Fantastic Four. Too bad that Jasmin the Lady in Law has a case to attend at 9AM the next morning, or we would've stayed longer.

The Jay Jay XP-rience

(Apologies for the corny headline beb, maybe I've been doing too many stories on Microsoft. On to the news on hand:)

The band had a load of Jay Jay, who was invited to perform at Pedro, Monterez last weekend, and guess who got to accompany this respected musician? OK no guessing that Superfriends as resident band was asked to do the honour, and it was certainly a valueable experience for band's backboners.

Jay Jay: He da man!

According to Superfriends' keyboardist, Siti, at practice session Zam the guitarist asked Jay Jay if he was comfortable doing a particular number (with high notes involved) as kickstart, and Jay Jay simply said OK je...

And nope, he didn't even have to warm up to reach them high notes! He went on effortlessly, singing buat pertama kalinya to the tune brought on by Superfriends' own guitarist, keyboardist, bassist and drummer.

Now definately that sets a benchmark for the rest of aspiring singers...! (Maybe Jay Jay should take that Faizull fella off the set of Malaysian Idol and Mentor him huh... ah haha.. ah hahha...)

They had to go through Jay Jay's selection of 13 songs in about less than a week's time... Granted only one night of practice... (which happen to start only after 3AM, mind you) to pull out a show for last weekend!

I wasn't fortunate enough to have caught the show nor the one-time-only practice session, but here's some photos provided by Siti the keyboardist...

Here's Jay Jay practicing with Superfriends...

Atchocho.. I know la the photo the very gelap, I've tried enhancing it, and tis the best I could do! Come to think of it, I hate ArcSoft! Anywho... in case you couldn't guess, from left to right are Zam (that tiny yellow line), Jay Jay, Sham somewhere behind the drums, Siti (look out for that spot of light behind the rows of keyboards) and Nadzir. The photo would've looked better if I have more space on this blog's template!

Fine tuning some stuff with the band... Zam and Sham almost present in photo this time...

p/s: Siti also said everyone (minus the main man of course) had their fair share of "ekhem moments"... Dang I should've been there!

Another p/s: Apparently the artist in Najuib the main frontline of Superfriends could no longer be repressed. He was seen painting the backdrop of Pedro recently with the help of the new frontliner Hafiz... Now where did that photo go..?

Scanned stuff

Since I earn a living as an IT journalist who reports, write features and test IT gadgets, from time to time I do get some cool stuff to play with and write about. This month I got meself a Canon Pixma MP130 to use as I please, so here's something I've scanned for benchmarking purposes.

I shouldn't really waste it now, right? So here's a scanned copy of the front page (top-half) of a new pull-out from the newspaper giant (all ol' and agin', may I add):

Wha..? kenot see ah? No problemoso, I shall rescan it using the Canon MP Navigator 1.1 and enhance it using ArcSoft Photo Studio 5.5 and custom resize it using Kodak Imaging and light-weight screen-capture it using IrfanView, OK?

Now can see right? So got address ^ lagi kat situ... ape lagi...
