Alfresco? Ape tu?

"Alfresco" ladies and gentlemen, means... [~drumroll~] outdoor.

Aiyoyoh, why so pompous-sounding ek? If outdoor, be it di bawah bulan purnama ka, di bawah lampu minyak tanah ka, say la outdoor.. Alfresco sounds like something only painters do on a canvas!

Anyway, if you want good music and good food in alfresco setting, how bout catching the band Superfriends at Alamanda one of these weekends?

I'm just gonna share the details on the Alamanda gig, which I earlier sent in reply to Eliza's query:
Band Superfriends playing at Alamanda Mall, Precinct 1 Putrajaya.
Date: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Time: Friday & Saturday 8 - 10PM, Sunday 5 - 7PM
Venue: Alamanda's water fountain courtyard
Where to dine: Starbucks Coffee, The Coast Southwest Grill, The Manhattan Fish Market, Penang Village, Secret Recipe

BTW I plucked out the info from Alamanda's website, http://www.alamanda.com.my/ . For the record I haven't gotten my butt there just yet, so why not you guys let me know how it goes.

Superfriends' 2nd man-in-front Apizz recently directed me to a friend's website, which featured the band playing at Alamanda. Two calls from ERA listeners

Yesterday two mates called me up asking if they heard it right - apparently the ERA deejays been promoting the band Superfriends' gig at Alamanda in their morning show.

The two called me separately, but for the blog I merged the conversation into a conference call.

As: Eh band akak kau main kat Alamanda ke bulan ni?

Za: Pagi tadi kat ERA heboh pasal Superfriends punye show kat Alamanda.

Me: Ha'ah. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays je. Show start awal.

Za: Kecoh abis deejay2 tu.

As: Haruslah! Kata main kat Planet Hollywood?

Me: PH pun main gak.

As: Camne lak tu?

Me: Planet cam biasa la, all days except Sundays. Mula pun paling awal 10.30PM, selalunya 11PM.

As: Alamanda?

Me: Fridays and Saturdays diorang rush la, abis Alamanda kul 10PM trus lari gi PH.

Za: Uui.. Letih la depa ek?

Me: Aku yang sekadar tengok pun letih gak. Kira hari-hari la kerja.

Za: Hehe, bleh la try gi Alamanda nanti. Selama ni tak pernah sampai siot.

As: Dah dekat dengan rumah aku kat Puchong tu.

Me: Jom, jom. Aku last gi Alamanda sebab treasure hunt. Tak menang lak tu!

p/s: I still dunno which radio station is airing the announcement la - ada yang cakap Hitz, ada yang cakap Mix.. Obviously I don't get out early enough to be on the road and switching on the radio to come across one eh..

A_F, NF and OF

A_F = Aka_demi Fan_tasia? Naah... Always Friends
For those of you who managed to catch Superfriends at Planet Hollywood these past few days will know by now that our favourite singer, Nadya has decided to take a break from singing.

Heard she's settling down - now ain't that great news? All the best Nads! Will miss your Evanescence and Fergie or BEP renditions... (especially Intan, you know she's your No 1 fan whenever you belt out Bring Me to Life).

As a friend of Superfriends who have seen the band start from scratch and work their way up over these years, I can tell you guys that Nad is one of the best singers to have worked with the band.

And who can forget her teasing? So with that I declare her the cheekiest too! And she's always groovin and movin I sure had a hard time photographing her la! Will miss doing that too!

Added on Monday, 13 August 2007:
Nadya will still be singing with the band throughout the Planet Hollywood stint. So you all out there, especially Vynuz, don't miss the opportunity!

NF = Not Found? Bukannn... New Friend
Superfriends has roped in new singer, Shima to help them out for the Alamanda gigs. Her best works can be heard in R&B tunes, which the bandmates say comes naturally to her.

So let's welcome Shima to the realm of Superfriends. Break a leg!

OF = Old Friend? Hell no! 'Tis Old Foe
Based on a particular love-hate conversation somewhere in the blog, my mate and I sincerely offered this dude friendship. But all we got back was hostility, so too bad loh if can't be friends. Just remember ini blog Siti Rosman yang punya, and aiyoh dude, Siti Rosman is not a member of Superfriends, Siti Rosman just plays castanet in her living room, get it? Gosh, it offends me when one doesn't know his enemy well.

Superfriends feat temp new line-up in PH tonight

Tonight will be the beginning of Superfriends stint in Planet Hollywood, KL after a month of semi-break from the clubbing scene (the band did perform as Nebula for Beach Club's Rock Nights last month).

For friends of the band, tonight is the best night to catch the band's new line-up on its maiden performance in the mainstream clubbing scene. Actually the new line-up has performed before in a private function just days ago, and their adrenalin rush will continue on tonight at PH, due to one of the frontline singers taking a break to settle a family emergency.

Though nothing drastic, those who are familiar with the band having frequent their shows over the last several years will inevitably detect a fresh note from the musicians. Like it or love it, let me know if you guys do make it tonight. Remember, come down before 10PM for a better deal.

Me, I'll be there this weekend or the next ladies night I hope with a couple of friends to take a listen to the slightly new sounds of Superfriends. Catch you there!
