Band Superfriends would like to wish all Malaysians, Happy Voting!

The band hopes everyone will be doing their duty to the country in happy spirits, and respect each other's differences in ideology.

To those who are making noise but failed to register as a voter, the Band says please go to SPR and register, and make sure to do your duty the next time around.

The Fat Lady ain't singing just yet

Looks like our favourite band is not calling it quits just yet.

This month they'll still be playing on Mondays at The Beach Club, Kuala Lumpur. So your February ain't gonna go to waste... See you there!

And while we're at it, Happy Chinese New Year to all Band Superfriends friends and fans.

Band Superfriends get to Raya!

This year our friends Band Superfriends will be able to enjoy Raya like the rest of us (read: dapat cuti beb!) They'll be heading back to Kajang, Ipoh, Johor, Pahang and get to eat lemang and ketupat without having to rush back to KL for a nightly performance.

Sangria crowd will miss em for sure! But for only a few days, so just come back at the end of the Raya week ok.

"Though we don't get lots of days, it is enough to give us a chance to fast with our families and raya too. So can we have some duit raya please?" says a bandmember whose name I shall not quote.

So sincerely from the band, its alumni and I, Selamat Hari Raya & Maaf Zahir Batin. Let's rock it!

Conpem!

Hey guys, the word is out. Superfriends is playing in Sangria this month August 2011, and off day is Sunday, as usual.

I've not heard a confirmed word from the boys and gal of Superfriends just yet, but most likely our favourite band will be playing at Sangria this month.

Summer sounds

Band Superfriends has been playing at the Beach Club since end of May 2011, but this blogger failed to keep you guys abreast. Heard they've updated their songbook with a few of my favourite tunes but since I've left the club scene of late, I've been out of tune myself.

Had I been still a club frequenter, I would been writing a few titles for them to layan for the first set - Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song and Avril Lavigne's whaddahell track would be a couple.

But since I ain't going I ain't holding my breath...

In any case, the band's still doing their recording works bit by bit, as between nightly duties and daytime work they've each got a lot going on.

Did I ever tell you they've got a new (well, new enough for me) drummer?

Band kept busy

If you're wondering why band Superfriends are not hanging out after work that long in the wee hours anymore, it's because they've taken a side career (yes, another one!).

You know some of them folks have been dabbling in bundle business, and Najuib's now a motorcycle enthusiast, following Siti the Korgian's footsteps. To supplement this Najuib is now also dealing motorcycling get ups from riding suits to riding shoes, gloves to goggles...

But the other side career I was talking about is actually doing corporate dinner shows. Yep, just this month they had two events involving corporate family days and annual gatherings of professionals. And how they enjoyed their Port Dickson event!

So if you're attached to one of the big wig corporate companies, don't be surprise if the same folks you hang out with outside your office hours suddenly pops up at your company's event, playing tunes from the 80s along to your boss' awful Bon Jovi-esque singing....

p/s: My boss believes he can do a credible Siti Nurhaliza, and I tell him, "Sure you can. Malaysia Boleh!"

April is the month for...

... playing pranks on your friends!

And Superfriends will have something up their sleeves tonight - as former victim I can safely tell you that! Head to Rum Jungle and find out what it is....

Musicians makin moolah

Years ago I blogged about the hardworking members of band Superfriends and tagged some photos of the bundle clothes stand that they've got goin at Downtown Cheras. Well guess what, the boys and girl of Superfriends have moved up a notch - they've opened a brick-and-mortar outfit at Galaxy Ampang.

So if you're a fan of branded clothes at better price, give them a visit! Their shops are located at ground floor of Galaxy Ampang, and after buying some stuff you can catch a movie in the oh-so-retro cinema, MBO.

I'll post some photos later - didn't bring my hard disk lah!
